Scope:

- Pre-Employment Testing: All job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
- Reasonable Suspicion Testing: Employees may be required to undergo drug testing if there is reasonable suspicion of drug use based on observable behavior, such as impaired performance, erratic behavior, or physical symptoms.
- Post-Accident Testing: Employees involved in workplace accidents or incidents that result in injury, property damage, or near misses may be required to undergo drug testing.
- Random Testing: Employees may be subject to random drug testing to deter drug use and ensure compliance with this policy.
- Refusal to submit: Refusal to submit to drug testing may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Consequences of Violations:
- Violations of this policy, including the use, possession, or distribution of drugs or alcohol in violation of company policy, will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Employees who test positive for drugs or alcohol, refuse to submit to drug testing, or fail to comply with the terms of a rehabilitation program may be subject to immediate termination.
Confidentiality:
- All drug test results and related information will be treated as confidential to the extent permitted by law.
- Access to drug test results will be restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
Employee Assistance:
STTR, Inc. recognizes that substance abuse is a treatable condition and is committed to providing support and resources to employees who may be struggling with substance abuse issues. Employees are encouraged to seek assistance through the company’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or through community resources.
Policy Review:
This drug-free workplace policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Updates and revisions may be made as necessary.
Acknowledgment:
All employees are required to acknowledge receipt and understanding of this policy. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
